Northrop Grumman has secured an Australian Defence Materiel Organisation contract to provide integrated airfield and asset protection solutions for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) C-17 aircraft.
ExTASS is a command-and-control platform for the integration of a variety of sensors designed for force-protection missions.

The system provides real-time detection and assessment of intrusions, which allows immediate coordination of appropriate response.
Under the contract, Northrop Grumman will deliver its expeditionary tactical automated security system (ExTASS) for the protection of the Australian C-17s while at home air stations and during expeditionary operations.
The ExTASS will be configured in a mobile trailer for quick deployment.
