JSS will be deployed to 26 air force and joint military sites worldwide following integration with other air and space operations centre systems.

JICOs are responsible for planning and managing the critical joint tactical data link networks that aircraft and ground troops use to communicate in combat.

Northrop Grumman will deliver 42 JSS systems, 160 workstations, spares, training and support for fielding and logistics under a contract awarded by the US Air Force Electronic Systems Center in 2005.
