JSC Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant has supplied ten Mi-171AMTSh transport helicopters to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, under the Russian Federation Air Force Modernisation programme.

Mi-8AMTSh (Mi-171Sh), which is based on the Mi-171 (Mi-8AMT) helicopter, can be equipped with guided missile weapons (Shturm-V system), unguided missile weapons, gun armaments and protective means sets.

The military helicopter can destroy armoured vehicles, weapon emplacements of ‘pillbox’ and ‘bunker’ types, surface targets, enemy troops under cover, as well as other mobile and fixed targets.

The helicopters began the ferry flight from Ulan-Ude to one of the Air Force military bases in the European part of the Russian Federation as the country has completed receiving the fleet.
