The FACSAT-2 is an advanced 6U remote sensing spacecraft. It is the second nanosatellite mission in Colombia. It involves the design, development, testing and operation of the nanosatellite.

The contract builds on the previous partnership between the two parties established during the FACSAT-1 programme. The first project was awarded to GomSpace in 2014.

In 2018, Colombian-made 3U satellites were launched under the FACSAT-1 mission and are currently being operated by the FAC.

FAC is directly involved in the execution of all the programme’s phases.
