Boeing subsidiary Tapestry Solutions has secured a five-year contract from the US Air Force (USAF) to sustain and modernise the Global Decision Support System (GDSS).
GDSS is a key command and control (C2) software platform that supports global Air Mobility Command (AMC) missions.

GDSS aids aircrews in the planning and execution of missions such as aerial refuelling and strategic airlift, as well as giving a common operational picture for AMC and mission partners on an integrated platform.
These facilities allow mobility airforces to quickly shift personnel and equipment from anywhere in the world within a few hours and sustain troop support for relief operations as long as required.
Tapestry Solutions vice-president for mission products and services Debbie Churchill said: “We are honoured to continue as AMC’s trusted partner on their cornerstone C2 programme.

By GlobalDataUnder the contract, GDSS will be migrated to a Cloud-hosted development and operations (DevOps) environment while offering services without any interruption.
Furthermore, next-generation software applications will be integrated with GDSS, leveraging on the benefits of service-oriented architecture.
