It was followed by Kia with 30 robotics patent filings, Boeing (22 filings), and Skydio (20 filings) in Q3 2023.

Patenting activity was driven by the US with a 33% share of total patent filings

The largest share of robotics related patent filings in the aerospace, defence & security industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 33%, followed by South Korea (17%) and China (15%). The share represented by the US was 9% higher than the 23% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
