CAE has received a contract from ADS to supply a comprehensive aeromedical evacuation training system to the US Air Force (USAF).
Awarded through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) programme, the contract seeks delivery of the system to Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) at Dobbins Air Force Base, near Georgia, US.

Specifically, the company would provide a high-fidelity C-130 fuselage trainer that is configured for aeromedical evacuation missions.
CAE US president and general manager Ray Duquette said: "We are pleased to be working with ADS, who helped the air force identify the best solution for their aeromedical training requirements and provided an efficient contracting solution for the procurement of CAE’s Aeromedical Evacuation Training System.
"The comprehensive, integrated, off-the-shelf training solution we provide will enable the US Air Force to more cost-effectively train both aircrews and medical personnel for critical aeromedical evacuation missions."

By GlobalDataDeveloped for a range of air mobility aircraft platforms, the system is expected to deliver AFRC a realistic training environment that will be used to prepare aeromedical evacuation crews for pre-flight and emergency procedures, as well as in-flight patient care.
The C-130 fuselage trainer will feature CAE Healthcare iStan human patient simulators with internal robotics that mimic human cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological systems.
Up on bleeding, iStan’s blood pressure, heart rate and other clinical signs change automatically, and the robot responds to treatment with minimal input from an instructor.
The simulator will also include courseware and curriculum, as well as a hand-held, wireless tablet instructor operator station to provide full control and customisation of a variety of training scenarios.
