Boeing has been awarded a contract for the supply of aircraft parts and support to the US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
Under the terms of the $293m performance-based contract, the company will provide ground support equipment for 11 different aircraft belonging to all three branches of the US military.

Specific aircraft include the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, AV-8 Harrier, B-1Lancer and B-52 Stratofortress bombers, C-17 Globemaster III, CH-47 Chinook, E-3 Sentry, E-6 Mercury, F-15 Eagle, F/A-18 Hornet and the KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refuelling aircraft.
The parts and services are expected to enable the DLA to provide essential logistics support to soldiers more quickly and effectively.
Boeing Tactical Aircraft and Weapons Support vice-president Julie Praiss said: "Boeing proposed a holistic partnership and transformational approach that fundamentally changes the way DLA and Boeing do business.
"We have laid the groundwork to improve affordability and efficiency that will increase aircraft availability for the warfighter."

By GlobalDataUnder the terms of the agreement, multiple contracts are scheduled to be incrementally awarded to the company during the next five years.
In addition, the DLA has a follow-on option, which if exercised would extend the contract by an additional five years.
Work under the contract is scheduled to be carried out at sites in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, St. Louis, Heath, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington, US.
Boeing claims that the long-term partnership is the result of the DLA challenging the industry to reduce operational costs by 20% and improve overall supply performance.
The two sides are expected to continue their collaboration on new ways to streamline processes, enhance performance and improve affordability.
