The Air Force Installation Contracting Agency (AFICA) has awarded Amec Foster Wheeler’s joint venture with a position on the US Air Force contract augmentation programme IV (AFCAP IV) for six years.

Amec Foster Wheeler’s joint venture with Fluor, Fluor-AMEC II, is one of eight teams selected for the AFCAP IV indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.

As part of the new development, Fluor-AMEC II is now eligible to bid for work up to a value of $5bn across the life of the contract period.

The task orders under the contract will be delivered to provide base life support services, engineering, and logistics support worldwide to the Air Force and other Department of Defense and US federal agencies.

In addition, the AFCAP IV programme will also offer support to joint or combined US Military forces acting as part of or in conjunction with the Nato or multinational forces.

It will provide the Air Force and other government agencies with additional capabilities to rapidly support the logistic requirements of its deployed forces through the use of civilian contractors.

In June, USAF selected Vectrus’ subsidiary Vectrus Systems as a prime contractor for the AFCAP IV.
