Affinity Flying Services, a joint venture between Elbit Systems and Kellog, Brown and Root (KBR), has secured a £500m contract to provide support for the UK Military Flight Training System (UKMFTS) programme.

Awarded by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), the 18-year contract will see the companies support and deliver aircrew training for the UK military.

Under the terms of the agreement, Affinity will provide new aircraft types, as well as maintenance and support.

This contract follows a £1.1bn contract awarded by the UK MoD to Ascent Flight Training to design, deliver and manage the Fixed Wing training service.

The UKMFTS programme is a partnering agreement between UK Front Line Commands, the UK MOD, Ascent and other industry partners to deliver aircrew training for the 21st century.

The agreement is part of £178bn investment in equipment over the next ten years to bolster the UK’s defence capabilities for the future.
