The US and Nato forces use Cubic’s AN/ARS-6 PLS, which is an airborne guidance system that allows to trace downed or missing personnel while remaining airborne.

"We take this responsibility very seriously, and are very proud of our role in designing and delivering the best PLS systems in the world to bring our warfighters home."

The system forms a part of the standard combat search and rescue (CSAR) system used by the forces.

Cubic’s technology enables the warfighters to hide their location from enemies and facilitates secure, encrypted communication between rescue forces and isolated personnel during civil and combat rescue missions.

Cubic Global Defense president Bill Toti said: "Nothing is more important than rescuing civilians or military personnel at risk.

"These systems are critical in the search and rescue of our warfighters.

"We take this responsibility very seriously, and are very proud of our role in designing and delivering the best PLS systems in the world to bring our warfighters home."

The AN/ARS-6 PLS is fitted in helicopters and fixed-wing attack aircraft that are used to conduct close-air-support operations.

Additionally, the system has been designed to easily interface with all US deployed combat survival radios and standard civil emergency distress beacons.

Last month, the company was contracted by the US Marine Corps (USMC) to integrate new weapons into its squad immersive training environment (SITE) simulation system.
