The US Air Force (USAF) and the South Korean Air Force have conducted combined flying operations as part of Buddy Wing 16-3, at Jungwon Air Base, South Korea.
The Buddy Wing training witnessed participation from F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots from the 80th Fighter Squadron and South Korean air force’s 19th Fighter Wing at Jungwon Air Base during Buddy Wing 16-3.

80th FS assistant director of operations major Nicholas Longo said: "These exercises certainly help you understand what the Koreans are bringing to the fight.
"We also look at the similarities and differences of tactics, strategies and technical subjects."
The training included two air combat manoeuvring exercises, eight air interdiction exercises, 11 strike coordination and reconnaissance exercises and 14 defensive counter-air exercises.
162nd FS commander lieutenant colonel Bokman Jung said: "Even though our pilots have a lot of flying skills, I think it’s important to highlight that our key to success is that we’re continuing to maintain, develop and share every aspect of how we plan to defend (South Korea).

The training which is conducted multiple times a year is aimed is aimed at improving the capabilities of South Korean Air Force and the USAF to train and operate as a combined force.
