Valued at $667,000, the contracts require the company to extend towards integration of data for unbiased intelligence and trust (TID-BIT) that is said to integrate data from multiple sources such as government-trusted sources and sensor technologies, open-source channels including Facebook, Twitter, and individual and multi-author blogs.

Aptima Analytics, Modeling and Simulation director Charlotte Shabarekh said: “Trying to infer information when there is an absence of hard data, analysts are forced to fill in the blanks.

“TID-BIT’s enhancements will provide automated support when analysts don’t have a lot of data but still need to get knowledge out of it.”

The TID-BIT will allow intelligence analysts to perform rapid and accurate situation assessments, as well as provide analysts the ability to explore the source attribution of a piece of information and assess the reliability of the source, the information credibility, and certainty, Aptima said in a statement.

“TID-BIT’s enhancements will provide automated support when analysts don’t have a lot of data but still need to get knowledge out of it.”

The automated extraction of information from unstructured sources will allow analysts to focus on analysis activities and less on manual search and data management tasks.

Aptima said that it is also adding a new layer of visualisation to TIDBIT technology.

Under the TID-BIT Phase III contract, Aptima will also be integrating the system with AFRL’s multi-INT enhanced exploitation and analysis tools (E2AT) programme architecture.
