Elbit Systems has been awarded a contract to supply its Spectro XR advanced electro-optic systems to an undisclosed Asia-Pacific country.
Valued at more than $90m, the contract will have a performance period of four years.

The ultra-long-range, day / night, multi-spectral electro-optical system has been designed to perform a range of information, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) applications in day, night and adverse weather conditions.
Equipped with a large multi-spectral imaging system combining multiple cameras into one, Spectro XR can be installed on several platforms, including rotary and fixed-wing airborne platforms, aerostats, naval vessels and land applications.

The modular design of the Spectro XR enables integration with various other systems onboard, such as mission computers, radar, data-links and helmet-mounted tracking systems.
Currently, more than 1,000 SPECTRO XR systems are in operational use worldwide.
