A $700m possible foreign military sale of C-17 logistics support services to the Qatar Ministry of Defence has been approved by the US State Department.

The Boeing Corporation is expected to provide logistics support services and equipment for Qatar Emiri Air Force’s C-17 military transport aircraft, under the sale.

Alliant Techsystems Inc. has secured a contract modification worth $22.19m to provide contractor logistics support services for the Iraqi Air Force’s Cessna 208 utility aircraft fleet.

"The MQ-9 Block 5 aircraft to be developed under the contract are intended to be supplied to France and Spain under foreign military sale contracts."

Awarded by the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Tinker Air Force Base, the contract is scheduled to be completed by December next year.

Northrop Grumman Information Systems has agreed to provide support services for the US Air Force’s battlefield airborne communications node E-11A platform, under a $55.27m-worth contract modification.

The modification, which has been awarded by the US Air Force Life Cycle Management, will require the contractor to perform comprehensive tasks and supply aircraft subsystems, personnel and support systems for the E-11A communications-relay platform up to January 2018.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. has received a contract valued $17.14m from the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center to develop an MQ-9 Block 5 Reaper configuration by January 2019.

The MQ-9 Block 5 aircraft to be developed under the contract are intended to be supplied to France and Spain under foreign military sale contracts.

The Finnish Air Force intends to procure equipment, support and training from the US Government for the F/A-18 mid-life upgrade (MLU) programme under a foreign military sale worth $156m.

The possible sale is expected to increase the service life of Finland’s F/A-18 fighter aircraft and improve survivability and communications network connectivity.
