"We will use our unmatched cyber, automation and analytics expertise to modernise the air force's weapons system, providing an advantage in everything from security to actionable insight in the digital battlespace."

The air and space operations centres provide a strategic capability for the USAF, with operators at 22 global locations using the AOC WS to command and control aircraft through all of the air force's critical missions.

Northrop Grumman-built AOC WS is designed to modernise the USAF's operational-level command and control (C2) centres to increase operational effectiveness and reduce costs.

The system is said to improve the speed of command for planning and execution of air and space force operations, and enable more effective, dynamic planning for irregular warfare or counterinsurgency operations for the airforce.

Raytheon is also hiring new system architects, software developers, cyber engineers, and IT services.
