The Australian Department of Defence has filed a foreign military sales request with the US Government for the sale of F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft upgrades to the Royal Australian Air Force.

The deal includes the supply of 39 AN/ALQ-214A(V)4 countermeasure systems, and 32 multifunctional information distribution system joint tactical radio system (MIDS JTRS) with four-channel concurrent multi-network (CMN-4) capability.

The US Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, US, has awarded a contract worth $409m to Pratt and Whitney for next-generation power, thermal and controls (NGT-PAC) requirements.

Pratt and Whitney will develop new technologies required to conduct applied research to increase knowledge and understanding of NGT-PAC.

The work under the contract will be performed in East Hartford, Connecticut, US, up to July 2024.

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support has awarded a contract worth $255m to AAR CORP to supply AM2 pallet and mat assemblies for expeditionary airfields.

Pallet and mat assemblies will be used by the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps of the US.

The deal has a two-year base period and three one-year options.

The Bahrain Defense Force has placed an order with Lockheed Martin for sniper advanced targeting pods (ATP).

The scope of the contract includes ATPs, spare parts, and support equipment for installation onto the Bahrain Defense Force’s F-16 fleet.

Deliveries are expected to begin early next year.
