The US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, has awarded a $250m-worth contract to Summit Technologies Inc for mission planning support contract III project.

As part of the deal, Summit Technologies will provide continued support for mission planning systems and for the entire mission combat planning process until January 2024.

Northrop Grumman Corporation has received a contract from the US Air Force (USAF) to modernise radio terminals aboard the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) fleet.

The contractor will replace the current radio terminals of the Joint STARS fleet with Air Force Tactical Receive System-Ruggedized (AFTRS-R) terminals.

The terminals will enable detection and tracking of a host of mobile threats.

The USAF has awarded a contract to The Boeing Company for 747-8 commercial jet aircraft to replace two VC-25A Boeing 747-200 presidential support aircraft.

Boeing will supply two modified 747-8 aircraft featuring a mission communications system, a medical facility, a self-defence system, autonomous ground operations capabilities, and an executive interior.

The aircraft are expected to achieve initial operational capability in 2024.

The aircraft to be supplied under the deal are intended to strengthen national military capabilities.

Alloy Surfaces Co Inc has won a contract valued at $29m to supply MJU-66/B, flare, aircraft decoys to the USAF.

The work under the contract will be performed at Alloy Surfaces’ facility in Chester, Pennsylvania, US, up to June 2020.
