The Bahrain Defence Force has placed a $1.082bn-worth foreign military sale request with the US Government for the upgrade of the F-16 Block 40 fighter aircraft.

The proposed sale covers modernisation of the F-16 Block 40 aircraft to the F-16V in order to strengthen the Royal Bahraini Air Force’s defence capabilities.

Engility Corporation has been awarded a five-year contract worth $49m to support the Kinetic Kill Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Simulation Technology for Advanced Research.

The contract will require Engility to research and develop multi-spectral and multi-modal phenomenology modelling capabilities to enhance the HWIL technology.

The company will also support research, development and transition of the US Air Force (USAF) munitions through the development of integrated guidance simulation.

ADS Inc has won a contract worth $23.14m to provide fire emergency services personal protective equipment (FES PPE) to the USAF.

The FES PPE structural garment ensembles to be supplied under the deal will be used by the USAF firefighters.

The contract was awarded by the US Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, US, and will run until March 2023.

Boeing Defense, Space and Security has received a contract modification to provide additional integrated battle station diminishing manufacturing source life of type (DMS LoT) parts to the USAF until March 2019.

The DMS LoT parts will be used to enhance the B-1B aircraft capabilities.

The contract modification has been awarded by the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, US.

Vinyl Technology Inc has won a one-year contract modification to supply CSU-22/P advanced technology anti-gravity suits to the USAF.

The $10.38m contract was given by the US Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support and has three one-year option periods.
