The state enterprises of Ukraine-based Ukroboronprom have teamed up to launch the production of flexible fuel tanks for the Mi-24 helicopter under the framework of an import substitution programme.
The company has joined forces with the Ukrainian Research Design-Engineering Institute of Elastomer Materials and Products and the Ukroboronprom subsidiary Aviakon, also known as the Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant.

According to Ukroboronprom, the Ukrainian Research Design-Engineering Institute of Elastomer Materials and Products has developed the technology and specialised equipment, as well as optimised the production of flexible fuel tank kits for the Mi-24.
