The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of two potential foreign military sales (FMS) of AH-64 Apache and CH-47 Chinook pilot training and logistics support to the Netherlands.
Approved by the US State Department, the total estimated cost of the FMSs and related equipment is $315m.

The sale package will include fuel, base operating support, facilities, publications and technical documentation.
Services such as pilot training, personnel training and training equipment, weapon system and software support, US Government and contractor technical, engineering, and logistics personnel services are also part of the FMS programme.
Furthermore, other associated elements of logistical and programme support were also requested.
DSCA said in a statement: “This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a Nato ally, which is an important force for the political stability and economic progress in Europe.”

It will support the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s (RNLAF) AH-64 and CH-47 training programme and help maintain highly trained and deployment-ready Apache and Chinook units.
The units will undergo training activities, including the AMERICAN FALCON exercise at Fort Hood, Texas.
