The US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Propulsion Acquisition Division (LPA) has issued a request for proposal (RFP) for the procurement of engines for the F-15EX fighter jets.
This final RFP for Lots 2+ propulsion system was developed based on the feedback received from the industry and follows the release of several RFP draft versions in the past months.

According to the RFP, the AFLCMC is seeking a complete propulsion system that is entirely integrated into the F-15EX weapon system.
The effort will be awarded as a new hybrid fixed-price incentive (firm target) (FPIF) with firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract to the selected contractor.
Delivery of up to 461 engines is expected to take place from October 2023 until June 2031, noted the RFP.
Interested companies are required to submit their proposals no later than 7 April 2021.

The company is under contract to build the first lot of eight F-15EX aircraft.
The first two F-15EX fighter jets are expected to be delivered to the US Air Force later this quarter.
The F-15EX two-seat fighter will replace the oldest F-15C/Ds.
GE Aviation was awarded a Lot 1 contract in June to produce 19 F110-GE-129 engines.
The firm is also responsible for the installation and supply of spares and modernised engine monitoring system computers for the aircraft.
