Under the terms of the deal, Ignition! and BAE Systems will explore the development of mission training centres that would involve ground schooling to Eurofighter simulator pilot training as well as training using other platforms and new export opportunities.

BAE Systems Belgium campaign director Anthony Gregory said: “This agreement forms part of one of the key planks of our long-term industrial proposal to Belgium and we are delighted to announce this partnership with Ignition!

“The 15.96m-long fighter jet has a wingspan of 10.95m and is capable of flying at a maximum altitude of above 55,000ft.”

“The mission training initiative would help position Belgium at the leading-edge of research and development, integration, production, support and management of advanced synthetic training, the importance and use of which is continually increasing.”

In addition, the cooperation agreement offers potential opportunities for Ignition! to provide aircraft support for the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets.
