Lockheed Martin has agreed to supply enhanced laser-guided training rounds (ELGTRs) to Nato member countries.
An agreement to this effect has been signed between Lockheed Martin and the Nato Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) on behalf of member countries.

Under the terms of the agreement, the company will provide Nato countries up to 3,000 ELGTRs a year over the next five years.
The ELGTR provides realistic Paveway II laser-guided bomb (LGB) tactical employment training for troops, Lockheed stated.
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control ELGTR programme manager Jason Golden said: “International and domestic air and ground crews benefit from this cost-effective and capable solution to refine operational employment tactics.”
According to the company, ELGTR allows aircrews to practice delivery tactics in a real-mission environment and experience actual weapon characteristics within today’s range limitations.

Said to be the only live-fire training solution for troops, the ELGTR is compatible with F/A-18, AV-8B, F-16, and various international aircraft.
The ELGTRs are manufactured at the company’s production facility in Archbald, Pennsylvania, US, where Paveway II Plus LGB kits and the Paragon direct attack munition are also produced.
So far, Lockheed Martin has sold more than 160,000 units to the US Navy and international customers.
