US Air Force assets will be used by the air mobility command (AMC) and transportation command to airlift over 300 army Stryker vehicles to Afghanistan.
C-17 Globemaster IIIs flown by military crews, and AN-124s operated by commercial partners will move the vehicles totalling to about 9,500lb to US forces in Afghanistan over the next two months.
The 618th Tanker Airlift Control Centre will support AMC in planning and executing the airlift missions including obtains permission from other governments to fly over their countries.
