The Belgian Air Force has accidently dropped a bomb over Germany during a practise flight.
The 8kg, 40cm-long bomb was released from an F-16 fighter jet into timberland near Lastrup municipality in Lower Saxony. No one was injured in the incident.
Belgian Air Force officials instantly reported the event to their German associates after which a team from the German Military Police was sent to the area from the Wilhelmshaven Naval Base. The bomb has not been found.
The German Air Force requested an official explanation from their Belgian counterparts.
