A Yak-130 combat trainer aircraft for the Algerian Air Force, built by Irkut Corporation, has completed its first flight.
The 40-minute test flight verified aircraft performance characteristics at different heights and speeds and also evaluated manoeuvrability, control stability and systems and power plant check.
The air force will use the Irkut-built aircraft for flight and combat training and for combat employment in any weather conditions against aerial and ground targets.
Yak-130 possesses subsonic flight performance and manoeuvrability and can carry a total combat load of 3,000kg.
Yak-130s are presently deployed as a base aircraft for lead-in and advanced training for the Russian Air Force.
