The US Air Force awarded Raytheon a card-development contract for an MUE receiver in June 2006.
The new technology on the MUE programme will replace legacy receiver systems and bring modernised M-code GPS navigation capabilities, enhanced accuracy and security solutions to the joint warfighter.
With m-code tracking, the air force will be able to synchronise user equipment, satellite and control system interoperability for the GPS constellation better.
The pre-production receiver will be delivered to the government in November 2009.
