The US Air Force Space and Missile Systems Centre’s (SMC) independent readiness review team (IRRT) will receive technical support from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
The delivery order for technical analysis and risk assessments has a one-year base period and four one-year options totalling $49m if all options are exercised.

SMC, a key component of the Air Force Space Command, is the centre for research, development and purchase of military space systems and is responsible for on-orbit, check-out testing, sustainment and maintenance of military satellite constellations and other defence space systems.
The IRRT performs risk assessment of space launch missions and reports findings in pre-launch reviews.
Under the contract, SAIC will help SMC’s IRRT assess space system readiness and reduce risks associated with software, avionics, propulsion or ordnance and structural mechanical areas.
