The rugged devices can be hand-held, head or weapon-mounted or fitted to a camera.
The goggles operate on a single AA battery and are equipped with ITT’s thin-filmed Generation 3 Pinnacle image intensifier tube, which is over ten times better at detecting available light than previous generations.
The devices will be receieved under a $19.3m order from the US Army’s Research Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center. 80% of the goggles will be delivered to the air force, with the remainder going to the US Army and the US Navy.
