The US Air Force will receive MJU-39 and MJU-40 infrared (IR) decoy flares from Kilgore Flares under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract.

The Air Force will use the flares to protect its F-22 Raptor aircraft from the threat of IR guided missiles.

The contract, which has a maximum potential value of $54m, will be extended over a four-year period.

The firm will undertake the first delivery, valued at $24m, in 2010 and 2011.
