The Indonesian Air Force is aiming to achieve zero accidents in 2010 and elevate the air force to world-class standards.

Indonesian Air Force chief of staff Marshall Imam Sufaat said setting these targets had its risks and therefore the air force would have to be brave and committed to hard work to achieve the targets, according to The Jakarta Post.

“Strategic steps to reach the ‘Zero Accident Road Map’ include strengthening leadership and management, especially at operational units, and maintaining flight and occupational safety,” he said.

Constraints of budget may be a roadblock in planning, actuating, controlling and monitoring the development activities, but with quality of human resources the success of a mission can be determined, according to Sufaat.
