Pratt & Whitney is to provide materials management services for the Royal Norwegian Air Force’s F100-PW-220E engine fleet, which powers its F-16 aircraft.

Under the four-year contract awarded by the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation, Pratt & Whitney will provide a comprehensive logistics service programme across all levels of the engine maintenance, including forecasting and delivery of spare parts, as well as part repair management.

The F-16 aircraft has a maximum payload capacity of 7,800kg and a maximum level speed of 2,175km/h at an altitude of 40,000ft.

Armament includes air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, laser-guided bombs, and rocket and gun pods.
