A new terminal at the Royal Malaysian Air Force’s (RMAF) Gong Kedak Air Base has been proposed by the Malaysian Defence Ministry.

The terminal will facilitate take-off and landing for RMAF fighter jets and transport aircraft, according to Bernama.com.

Upon completion, the Gong Kedak Air Base will become one of the most important air bases on the east coast, after the Kuantan RMAF Air Base.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that the proposal would be presented to the cabinet soon for inclusion under the tenth Malaysia plan to upgrade the air base.
