The Israeli Defence Ministry is looking to extend an agreement signed with Romania in 2006 to deploy Israeli fighter jets for training missions.

Having deployed jets to Romania for training in 2007, the IAF plans to send more aircraft by the end of this year.

The IAF previously used Turkish airspace for fighter training, but has recently been refused access due to its offensive against Hamas and the deterioration in Israeli-Turkish relations.
