Boeing has submitted a proposal to the US Air Force for phase 2 of the common range integrated instrumentation system (CRIIS) programme.
CRIIS will replace the advanced range data system and help the USAF improve the accuracy and realism of joint-service test and training activities, according to Boeing.

In 2008, Boeing was awarded the first phase of the CRIIS programme to develop technology that would enhance time, space and position information (TSPI), datalinks and encryption.
Phase 2 of the contract is due in September 2010, following the completion of phase 1 in June.
