Relationships with Japanese partners are expected to help the company with services and capabilities such as long-term data storage and machine learning, fixed-base operation services, including airfield facilities, and ground support equipment.

In addition, the partnerships will provide support services for command and control systems integration, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), as well as engineering, modelling and simulation capabilities.

“We’re interested in working with Japanese industry to establish an RPA capability that meets the unique defence and security needs of Japan.”

The company is also seeking Japanese partners for continued data analysis from a series of flight demonstrations of its Guardian RPA, which was carried out near Iki Island from 10-23 May.

GA-ASI international strategic development vice-president Joseph Song said: “We’re interested in working with Japanese industry to establish RPA capability that meets the unique defence and security needs of Japan.
