Rockwell will carry out design, development, integration and testing of the flight management system suite (FMSS) for the AWACS aircraft.

The FMSS will include an open system architecture that will simplify future upgrades to the aircraft’s capabilities.

The upgrade will provide an integrated avionics system, cockpit controls and displays, a flight management system (FMS), and a suite of communication and navigation equipment.

Boeing will install and integrate the system into the E-3 aircraft.
