Alenia Aeronautica has joined forces with Avio and Lockheed Martin to provide technical and logistical support services for the Italian Air Force’s C-130J airlift fleet.

Under the five-year, €155m ($69m) contract, the team will provide fully integrated service to improve efficiency and availability of the Italian C-130J fleet.

Alenia will provide spare parts, management of the supply chain and equipment maintenance including landing gear.

The company will also perform maintenance for the air ground equipment (AGE) and engineering support activities, including the C-130J flight simulator based at the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa.

Avio will supply the complete propulsion system including overhaul and technical / logistical and engineering assistance to the 92 AE2100D3 engines of the Italian military fleet.

Lockheed will be responsible for the supply of repair components produced in the US and for any modifications.
