The air forces of Russia and US are planning to conduct new joint training hijacking exercise to test their air defence abilities in the face of potential international hijacking by terrorists.

Russia and the North American Aerospace Defense Command have scheduled a meeting in Russia in February to plan their second joint hijacking exercise, Press TV reports, quoting the exercise’s lead planner US Air Force Lt Col Lee Haefner.

The countries planned the first round of hijacking exercises for 2008, which were postponed following a brief war between Russia and Georgia.
