The Pakistani Air Force (PAF) 26 Squadron has been re-equipped with indigenously produced JF-17 Thunder aircraft, having been previously equipped with A-5 III aircraft.
The PAF has also increased the number of JF-17 aircraft in the No. 16 Squadron.

The induction of the JF-17 will enhance and sustain PAF’s capabilities to cover the entire spectrum of air warfare including military operations other than war.
The PAC JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight, single engine, multirole combat aircraft primarily developed to meet PAF requirements.
The aircraft was jointly developed by Chengdu Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAC) of China, the Pakistani Air Force and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC).
