The JSM is a new missile that has been designed to meet operational requirements of the F-35 and to be internally carried on the aircraft.

The under development missile can also be integrated on other platforms.

Kongsberg Defence Systems president Harald Ännestad said, “Kongsberg has subcontracted a number of Norwegian companies to participate in the development and to qualify them for future development and production phases.”

The Norwegian Parliament has recently ratified the acquisition of four F-35s for 2016.
