BAE Systems is to deliver flight control systems for the KC-390 transport jet under a contract award from the aircraft manufacturer Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
Under the flight control computers and actuator control electronics contract, BAE will perform software, hardware, and system design and support integration of the flight control electronics on the aircraft.

The aircraft will be fitted with a digital flight control system for fly-by-wire flight control, flight and propulsion control, aircraft centre-of-gravity computation, structural air loads alleviation and handling performance.
BAE will carry out the system development activity in Rochester, UK, and New York, US.
The KC-390 is a next-generation twin-turbofan transport aircraft with in-flight refuelling capacity, as well as on-ground refuelling of other aircraft.
