SDS International (SDS) has received a MQ-9 Reaper Mission Training Device (MTD) delivery contract to support Air National Guard (ANG) Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) activities at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, US.
The ROVATTS-based advanced Reaper MTD tabletop simulator incorporates two stations that maintain the MQ-1/9 pilot and sensor operator’s physical layout of ground control stations.

The simulator features flat-panel displays, tracker display, head-down command and status displays, and specialised desktop control units in each of its stations.
The system consists of a detailed Afghanistan database in addition to thousands of realistic 3D features that meet MQ-9 crew tactical ISR and weapons delivery operations requirements.
The MTD will also support crew-training and distributed training including live, virtual and constructive systems in exercises using DIS or HLA connectivity.
