Lockheed Martin has awarded a contract to CAE to supply four C-130J weapons systems trainers and a range of other aircraft related training devices for the US Air Force (USAF).

Under the contract, Lockheed Martin and CAE will supply 16 training devices, including weapons systems, enhanced integrated cockpit systems, loadmaster fuselage and loadmaster part-task trainers for the USAF as a part of the C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training System Phase II programme.
CAE USA president and general manager, John Lenyo, said that the high-fidelity training devices and the Level D-equivalent weapons systems trainers will assist C-130J aircrews to maintain proficiency and readiness at a significantly lower cost.
Lockheed Martin’s Global Training and Logistics business training solutions vice president, Jim Weitzel, said: "The technology now available with our training devices offers incredible training flexibility, increased realism and a fully networked system capable of distributed mission operations.
"The new integrated cockpit systems trainers, for example, allow both aircrew and maintenance training on the same device, offering increased training capability to our customers while adding tremendous value."

By GlobalDataThe trainers will be supplied by Lockheed to the US Air Force Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command and Special Operations Command for C-130J initial qualification and refresher training.
After integration of the trainers, Cannon Air Force Base, Dyess Air Force Base, Hurlburt Field, Kirtland Air Force Base and Moody Air Force Base, in the US as well as Ramstein Air Base, Germany will receive them by 2016.
CAE will carry out simulators and training devices work at its facilities in Tampa, Florida, US and Montreal, Canada.
