The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) personnel have completed a joint training exercise, code-named Elang Indopura 2012, at Ngurah Rai Air Base in Bali, Indonesia.
Representing the 17th drill in the series, the ten-day biennial exercise was carried out in two phases, which included a command post exercise and air manoeuvre exercise.

The command post exercise was conducted at the Paya Lebar Air Base in Singapore from 17 to 18 October 2012, while the second phase was held in Lombok, Indonesia, from 19 to 30 November 2012.
More than 150 air force personnel from both countries, six Northrop Grumman F-5S/T fighter aircraft from Singapore, and four Indonesian BAE Systems-built Hawk 109/209 single-engine fighter jets participated in the exercise.
Conducted since 1980, Elang Indopura is aimed at providing RSAF and TNI-AU personnel with opportunities to help improve their professionalism and also foster mutual understanding and closer relations between the two air forces.
The drills also demonstrated the close defence relationship that exists between the two countries, which is continuously improved through regular professional exchanges and interactions.

By GlobalDataElang Indopura 2010 had witnessed participation from over 350 personnel and 13 aircraft from the two air forces, including RSAF’s four F-16 and four F-5 fighter aircraft, which were joined by five F-16 fighter aircraft from Indonesia.
