Russia's Yak-152 primary trainer aircraft has successfully completed its maiden flight on 29 September this year.
The Yak-152 has flown for the first time at the airfield of its developer, Irkutsk Aviation Plant.

The new aircraft has been designed for use by training pilots in flying techniques, basics of navigation, simple, complex, and aerobatic pilotage, as well as group piloting and will provide initial pilot training during the day and night.
The new aircraft will facilitate instrumental flying along the route and landing approach with the use of airfield landing systems.
It will also provide professional selection and training of young pilots in military and civil training centres, as well as aerobatic pilots in flight clubs.
The serial production of Yak-152 has been developed based on Russian design solutions in small aviation and will begin at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant.

By GlobalDataThe aircraft is intended for use by the Russian Ministry of Defence, paramilitary sport organisation DOSAAF (Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Fleet), and other organisations of the Russian Federation.
The Yak-152 features an all-metal airframe, low wing, aerofoil monoplane design and can be equipped with advanced flight navigation, radio communications, and targeting equipment to provide high-reliability and enhanced training capabilities for the pilots.
Its maximum take-off weight will be 1,320kg and it can carry a maximum fuel load of 200kg.
