The USAF will receive technical support from Avaya Government Solutions to ensure continued security and operation of the USAF network resources around the world.

Under the $64m contract, Avaya will provide network performance tuning, network compliance assessment, data gathering and other IT services for the air force network systems through its Scope enterprise design guidance and evaluation project (Scope EDGE) system.

It will also provide network compliance and optimisation services, quick response maintenance to the air force network control centres, operations and security centres.

Major command communications coordination centres throughout the US and abroad will also be included.

The one-year contract, with a four-year provision and one-year extension, has been awarded as a part of the GSA Alliant contract for which Avaya has been a prime contractor.
