The Indian Air Force (IAF) has ordered 12 AW101 medium / heavy multirole helicopters from AgustaWestland.
The air force will use the AW101 helicopters to perform government duties.
Included in the €560m ($764m) contract are five years of logistical support, servicing, and initial aircrew and technician training.
The AW101 helicopter features the largest cabin, stand-up head room, advanced safety features and the latest in vibration-reduction technology.
AgustaWestland has recently signed a joint venture with Tata Son for the production of the AW119 Koala, for the Indian Ministry of Defence’s reconnaissance and surveillance helicopter (RSH) programme.
