The first four of the Royal Moroccan Air Force (RMAF) F-16 fighter jets have been powered by Pratt & Whitney enhanced F100 engines.
The F100-PW-229 engine enhancement package (EEP) engine incorporates the latest technologies and is considered to be one of the world’s safest fighter engines.
The new propulsion system, which also powers the F-15 aircraft, provides advanced power for the F-16 jets.
Lockheed Martin’s aeronautics business area executive vice president Ralph D Heath said, “The delivery of these aircraft places Morocco among the very elite group of air forces of the world that operate the advanced multirole F-16.”
The new aircraft will contribute to the modernisation of the RMAF by supplementing the service’s existing fleet of fighter aircraft.
